Department of Applied Physics was conceived in the year 1986 along with the inception of the Institute with an aim to provide scopes to build the foundation stones for higher studies in Engineering and other allied fields.The department offers Ph.D. in various specializations of the discipline.The backbone of the department is quality research, experienced faculty members and latest infrastructure.
To meet the diverse needs of an international learning community and contribute to society and its economic development through research, excellent teaching and high quality student support.
To impart quality education to the students and to let them feel that Physics is the father of all Science and Engineering. Dr. (Mrs.) Ruby Das has published 31 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed international and national journals. She has completed one collaborative research project funded by UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Indore. She has supervised five research scholars for Ph.D. programme.
Her biography was selected for the 2012 Edition of Marquis Who's Who in the World. The International Biographical centre, Cambridge, England and American Biographical Institute nominated her for various international awards. She was also nominated as Member in Executive Council, CSV Technical University, Bhilai (C.G.) in 2013. She is working as Chairman, Board Of Studies (BOS-Applied Physics), CSVTU from 2016. She is also reviewer of various reputed international and national journals.
Dr. Samit Tiwari has published 10 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed international and national journals.He has undertaken one sanctioned research project from CCOST, Raipur.He has guided one research scholar for Ph.D. Presently he is working as Dean, Faculty of Sciences in CSVTU, Bhilai. He is also member of Flying Squad and Board of Studies in CSVTU, Bhilai.
Prof. C.S. Robinson has published 07 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed international and national journals. He is Member, Board of Studies, CSVTU Bhilai and working as Student Mentor- Astro club & NPTEL (Physics), BIT, Durg. He also worked as coordinator of STTP on Engineering Physics.
Dr. Rajesh Lalwani has published 17 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed international and national journals. He has completed one collaborative research project funded by UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Indore. One research scholar is pursuing Ph.D. under his supervision.
He was nominated for “Who is Who in the World” in 32nd edition& again in the edition of the year2018. His biography was selected in Asia specific who is who in 2016.He was also Nominated by the International Biographical Center for Top 100 Scientist 2017 & Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.He is member BOS in CSVTU, Bhilai and reviewer of various reputed international and national journals.
Prof. Prashant Kumar Sahu has published 05 research papers in different peer reviewed international and national journals. He is working as Member Board of Studies, CSVTU, Bhilai. He also worked as Coordinator of BITCON on Engineering Physics-2017.
Dr. Raunak Kumar Tamrakar has published 116 research papers in various peer reviewed indexed international and national journals. He has undertaken one sanctioned research project from CCOST, Raipur.
He has received Best poster presentation award in National conference on luminescence and its application “NCLA” held at PES University, Bengaluru, in 2013.He also got Young scientist award (In Physics)organized by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, sponsored by Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology in 2014.He got best poster award in 5th International conference on luminescence and Its application (ICLA-2015) held at PES University, Begaluru, in 2015. He is also editor and reviewer of various reputed international and national journals.
